American Jewelry from New Mexico View Kristin's iconic work as part of an exhibition that examines adornment in New Mexico dating back to 450 CE. CLASSESClasses Bezel and Prong-Set Tiger Eye Cabochon Pendant with Beaded Necklace 1.1" x .75" x .24" (pendant) acetylene torch silver solder fabrication, bezel cup fabrication, prong fabrication, stone setting, handmade jump rings, bead stringing, handmade and commercial findings, hand finished with 200, 400, 600 grit sandpaper followed by 000 steel wool and polishing cloth "This was my first effort to combine bead stringing with stone-setting and soldering. The pendant initially had only the silver bezel, but I realized there was no way to suspend it! Kristin came up with the idea of adding a brass layer in which I could add a loop that permitted me to attach the pendant to a chain." Tiger Eye Earrings 3.875" x .937" x .187 (with ear wires) hammering, drilling, wire wrapping, chainmaking, polished with scotch brite followed by machine tumbling "I made these earrings to go with the pendant. I like movement in earrings, so the loops attaching the silver pieces to the ear wire and stone are large, keeping all parts loose and somewhat independent." Prong Set Turquoise Cuff Bracelet .9" x 2.6" x 2.2" acetylene torch silver solder fabrication, hammering, shaping, pattern created to design unusual prong setting, cabochon stone setting, hand finished with 000 steel wool and
machine tumbling also shown:
