Flo "Over the past 5 years, participation in Kristin Diener's Jewelry and Metals class has been a rich educational experience and a valuable opportunity for the expansion of skill level.  It is a pleasure working with Kristin, a Master Jeweler, one whose integrity is first and foremost.  Kristin offers a high level of teaching, is sensitive to the needs and levels of each student and encourages independent creativity."
Professional Information: My lifetime experiences have deeply influenced my art work.  While attending UNM as an undergraduate in Philosophy and Anthropology, I studied Jewelry and Metals with Professor Ralph Lewis.  In Philadelphia I apprenticed with Wesley Emmons, Goldsmith and Professor at the Museum School - Art Institute of Philadelphia.  Most recently I have studied with Master Silversmith, Kristin Diener of the University of New Mexico's (Albuquerque) Continuing Education Program.
Early in my career I taught pre-kindergarten for 5 years in the Philadelphia School System.  I then worked at NASA's astronaut program, performing research on the KC 135 aircraft during parabolic flight and transcranial Doppler with astronauts and cosmonauts.  I used much of this research opportunity in obtaining a PhD in Educational Anthropology. At UNM I was Technical Director of the Vascular Laboratory.
In addition, I have lived in the Four Corners area of New Mexico owning and operating a horse ranch, and since the age of 5 have studied and played classical music. Currently, I am playing the piano with Joanna deKeyser, Professor Emeritus, cellist.
