STUDENT WORK

FIONA
Fiona "I have been making jewelry from wire and polymer clay for five years. I love jewelry and the structure and mechanics of many things. Mostly, I used pliers and my hands, but couldn't fully extend myself and do more elaborate and interesting things like you can with metalsmithing. With Kristin, I have learned sawing, drilling, stamping, making cold connections with rivets (my favorite), filing, disc cutting, polishing, soldering and even how to make my own jump rings. Bezel setting is next and I can't wait. I also really love to draw Japanese anime characters. Kristin encouraged me to incorporate my drawings into my jewelry, which has really inspired me. For a pendant, I sandwiched two of my drawings between mica, etched brass and stamped copper. I love working with Kristin! She makes it possible to show all of who I am in my jewelry designs."
