American Jewelry from New Mexico View Kristin's iconic work as part of an exhibition that examines adornment in New Mexico dating back to 450 CE. CLASSESClasses Escher Ring
2011 (Continuing Jewelry and Metals Class, Open Studios) 1" x 1" x .5" "Like M.C. Escher drawings, the ring's design explores concepts between space, continuity and balance. The Escher ring's design defies symmetry by breaking the continuity of the ring's surface with alternating identical silver and brass planes. The planes are separated from each other to create a spatial definition within the ring that suggests the continuity of the ring's surface wile holding the onyx stone. The planes are held together with a tube, soldered at each end and finished with a brass screw. The stone is secured to the ring's body with a steel screw."
