"Another amulet maker is Kristin Diener, whose nearly foot-long brooch called feminine Protection is a Victorian/Gothic assemblage of sterling silver, antique glass frames, a dead bumble bee encased in a locket, grape seeds, and an artful arrangement of the back of a nude woman.  Diener's appealing pieces are filled with small bits of information that seem to be pointing towards narratives about women's lives, though it is unclear exactly how they offer protection."
